Note on status: The Ardenly browser extension has not yet been released. The sections below describing extension data practices state our intended design. We will publish an updated, final version of this policy before the extension is made available, and we will date any changes.
1. Who we are
Ardenly LLC ("Ardenly", "we", "us") operates the website at ardenly.com and the Ardenly browser extension. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@ardenly.com.
2. Information we collect
From the website
- Email address — only if you choose to join our waitlist. We use it to notify you when Ardenly launches and for occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Basic technical data — standard server and analytics information such as approximate region, browser type, and pages visited, used to understand traffic and keep the site working.
From the browser extension
To tell you whether something is cheaper elsewhere, Ardenly needs to know what product you are looking at. When you view a product page on a supported retail site, the extension processes:
- Product identifiers and details — such as the product name, brand, model or SKU, listed price, and the retailer's domain.
- Comparison activity — which comparison results were shown and whether you chose to follow one, so that a resulting purchase can be attributed to us for commission purposes and so we can improve match quality.
- General location — approximate country or region, because prices, currency, availability, and shipping differ by market.
What the extension does not collect
- We do not collect your browsing history generally. The extension activates on retail product pages, not on every site you visit.
- We do not collect passwords, payment card numbers, or bank details. We never ask you to enter them into Ardenly.
- We do not read the contents of your email, messages, documents, or other private accounts.
- We do not require you to create an account or provide your name to use the extension's core price comparison.
3. How we use information
- To find and display matching or comparable products and their prices.
- To attribute qualifying purchases so retailers and affiliate networks can pay the commissions we are owed. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
- To improve match accuracy, fix bugs, and measure whether the product works.
- To communicate with you if you have contacted us or joined the waitlist.
- To detect fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
4. We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only in these circumstances:
- Affiliate networks and retailers — when you follow a link from Ardenly to a retailer, standard affiliate tracking identifies the referral so a commission can be attributed. This is how the retailer knows the visit came from us.
- Service providers — companies that host our infrastructure, send our email, or provide analytics, acting on our instructions and bound to protect the data.
- Legal requirements — where we are required to disclose information by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
- Business transfer — if Ardenly LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will give notice before your information becomes subject to a materially different policy.
6. Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here — for example, comparison and attribution records are kept as long as required to reconcile commission payments and meet our record-keeping obligations. Waitlist email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, and individuals in the UK, EU, and EEA, may have specific statutory rights.
To make a request, email hello@ardenly.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You can also uninstall the extension at any time, which stops all extension data collection.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and to understand site traffic. Affiliate networks set cookies when you follow a commercial link so that a purchase can be attributed to us. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Ardenly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International users
Ardenly is operated from the United States. If you use Ardenly from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product develops. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide more prominent notice.
