The problem
The same product is sold at wildly different prices across the internet, and nobody has time to check. You find something, it seems reasonable, you buy it — and there's a decent chance it was sitting somewhere else for meaningfully less. Comparison shopping is tedious enough that most people skip it, which is precisely why the price gaps persist.
What we're building
Ardenly is a free browser extension for Google Chrome. While you shop, it identifies the product you're viewing and checks whether the identical item is available cheaper elsewhere. It also surfaces close alternatives — a different colorway, last season's model, a comparable product from another brand — clearly labeled as such, so you can judge whether the trade-off is worth it.
If the page you're on already has the best price, Ardenly says so and gets out of the way.
Where we are
Ardenly is in active development and has not yet been released. There is no Chrome Web Store listing yet. We'd rather say that plainly than run a countdown clock over a product that doesn't exist. If you'd like to know when it does, join the waitlist.
Our position on trust
Shopping extensions have, collectively, earned a fair amount of suspicion — over how they handle data, and over whether the "deal" they show you is genuinely the best one or just the most profitable one for them. That skepticism is reasonable, and we'd rather meet it head-on than hope you don't think about it.
So, concretely:
- We rank by price and relevance, not by commission rate.
- We show retailers who pay us nothing.
- We tell you when you're already on the best deal.
- We don't sell personal information.
- We publish, in plain language, how we make money and what data we handle.
